This is a great little book to fit into the knitting bag, and patterns are very adaptable to basic knitting patterns; i.e. jumpers, tops, kiddies wear etc.

This book is wonderful. Easy to follow with written and graphic instructions for each stitch, with a picture of what the pattern will (hopefully) look like. The glossary of stitches at the front of the book is a really handy tool.
